​Rebecca, raised by her great aunt in Salem, VA. often feels alone and abandoned. Rebecca and Chris have known each other their entire lives. First as neighbors, then as friends, and finally, as high school sweethearts. Rebecca and Chris fall in love and are excited to begin their future together.  After Chris leaves for college, situations arise that drive Rebecca to move away from Salem. ​​Rebecca finds solace in the warmth of an elderly couple who hire her to work in their bookshop. When they leave their worldly possession to her, a disgruntled family member targets Rebecca and her daughter. ​For the safety of her daughter she decides that moving back to Salem VA. would be her best option, but that means coming face-to-face with her past, inclding her long-lost love, Chris.
